WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS by GREEN DAY

Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong wrote this song about his father, who died of cancer on September 1, 1982. At his father's funeral, Billie cried, ran home and locked himself in his room. When his mother got home and knocked on the door to Billie's room, Billie simply said, "Wake me up when September ends," hence the title.

SONGS IN MOVIES: EMINEM "LOSE YOURSELF"

The track Lose Yourself became the first hip-hop song to win Best Original Song at the Academy Awards (Oscar) in 2002, though the rapper himself wasn’t there to accept the prize. Lose Yourself went on to be nominated for five Grammys, winning two. The tune was created specifically for the movie 8 Mile which was based on the musician’s life.

PETER CAPALDI’S 6O ANNIVERSARY

Peter Dougan Capaldi (born 14 April 1958) is a Scottish actor, writer and director. He portrayed the twelfth incarnation of the Doctor in Doctor Who and Malcolm Tucker the spin doctor in The Thick of It, for which he has received four British Academy Television Award nominations, winning Best Male Comedy Performance in 2010. When he reprised the role in In the Loop, Capaldi was honoured with several film critic award nominations for Best Supporting Actor. 


As a director, Capaldi won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film and the BAFTA Award for Best Short Film for his short film Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life. He went on to write and direct the drama film Strictly Sinatra and helmed two series of sitcom Getting On.

JENSEN ACKLES’ 4O ANNIVERSARY

Jensen Ross Ackles, better known as simply Jensen Ackles, was born on March 1, 1978, in Dallas, Texas, to Donna Joan (Shaffer) and actor Alan Ackles. He has English, German, and smaller amounts of Scottish and Irish, ancestry. Many of his ethnic German ancestors lived in Russia.
