SONGS IN MOVIES: EMINEM "LOSE YOURSELF"

The track Lose Yourself became the first hip-hop song to win Best Original Song at the Academy Awards (Oscar) in 2002, though the rapper himself wasn’t there to accept the prize. Lose Yourself went on to be nominated for five Grammys, winning two. The tune was created specifically for the movie 8 Mile which was based on the musician’s life.

"To be, or not to be" - these words are familiar to lots of people in different parts of the globe. The famous line is the opening phrase of a soliloquy spoken by Prince Hamlet in the so-called "nunnery scene" of genius William Shakespeare's play Hamlet. Act III, Scene I.

eBooks are taking over the world of reading. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

A book is no longer just a stack of papers bound together. More and more people are reading electronic books, or eBooks. Some are PDFs. Some are on Kindle. Some come in various other formats. 


There are pros and cons of eBooks replacing paper books.

THE BLACK DAME OF NESVIZH AT KUPALA THEATRE

One of the most mysterious characters in Belarus history – Barbara Radziwill is still believed to be living in the old Nesvizh castle. The story of her dramatic and sad love is told in the famous play “The Black Dame of Nesvizh” written by Alexey Dudarev and staged at Kupala theatre in Minsk. On March 24 our students visited that wonderful performance.

The YouTube channel of School 8 in Elabuga presented a video in which two young American teachers Olivia and Carry review Russian textooks and compare two educational systems: the Russian and the American ones. The review could be really interesting for Belarusian students and teacher - it's always exciting to look at ourselves from another angle.
